Location

Land Acknowledgement

We respectfully acknowledge that the Casino Project is located within the Traditional Territory of Selkirk First Nation and the asserted Traditional Territory of White River First Nation.

Our proposed access corridor travels through the lands of Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation.

We honour the Elders—past, present, and emerging—whose deep stewardship of these lands, waters, and wildlife continues to guide our work. We are committed to listening, learning, and acting in partnership at every step.

How the Site Is Accessed

Building and operating the Casino Project requires responsible access to remote territory. Site access has been designed to minimize disturbance, protect wildlife, and maintain safe operations for the long term.

Project access includes:

  • Existing highways: Paved highways from Whitehorse to Carmacks form the first stage of access.
  • Freegold and Casino Roads: Planned all-weather gravel roads connecting Carmacks to the Casino site.
  • Carmacks Bypass: Completed in 2023, providing a key segment of the road upgrade.
  • Seasonal barge and air access: For certain materials during specific times of year.
  • Strict road management: Controlled, gated access as part of the Casino Project’s Road Use Plan to protect wildlife and harvesting resources.
